Rev Eric Gant – July 24th

Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Eric Gant has been performing as a professional musician since 1993. Eric played slide guitar on ‘Georgia Jam,’ the 2005 CD release by drummer and vocalist Steve Hawkins. Eric was the guitarist on ‘Uncle Dave Dougherty’s Radio Hour’, the live concert DVD that was filmed in the Canton theatre (Turniptown, 2009). Eric’s affinity for music runs in his family, as his great-grandfather, Pate Martin, was an old-time fiddler who performed on WPAQ’s Merry-Go-Round radio show in 1949, and also appeared on the album ‘WPAQ: The Voice of the Blue Ridge Mountains’ (Rounder, 1999). Eric is currently in the process of recording his debut solo album. Most of the tracks feature lyrics by author and poet, Timothy H. Patton. This new album reflects his background in blues, folk, bluegrass, and rock, while retaining a distinctive sound. Well-versed in a wide range of musical genres, Eric’s soulful style portrays integrity and a deep love of his craft.
